In 1995, God called a young man from Bo to preach in Koidu City. At the age of 22, Sahr Ericson Konoyima moved to Koidu City and began preaching. He started the Holy Ghost Bible Church in 1995. The pastors and teachers are all from this church.
"The average age in Sierra Leone is only 17 years old, reflecting a country ravaged by AIDS, along with civil strife that lasted for over ten years. Houses were burnt down, peoples arms and limbs were cut off. Yet families strive to send their children to school for an education. Parents are torn between whether to send their children to school or get shelter for the family with the limited resources they earn.
The public schools are overcrowded and lacking in resources and personnel. Konoyima Educational Fund has started schools to offer children the academics and Christian foundations that are essential in forming tomorrow's leaders in a country that is desperate for strong, moral leadership."
